The increasing need for up-to-date and instant data has brought the importance of the Data Centers and the emerging needs. Data Centers are the heart of many corporate enterprises and public institutions. When designing data centers, the devices to be positioned and all components in the room should be designed in such a way as to ensure that all data are accessible and usable in the most urgent situations (fire, earthquake, flood, etc.). The aim of the data centers is to ensure the security and continuity of the information and to protect the data in the best way against all negative conditions.

Over time, the data center loses its original form due to the usage density and incorrect positioning of products such as cabinets, panels, switches and patch cords which are added later in the data center. Therefore, when determining the capacity of the data center, more than 20% of the requirement should be designed as backup users and backup data storage units.

- Discovery And Positioning

The data protection system that will meet the needs should be determined in the most accurate way. While data center designs are a fixed part of the existing complex, this structure can be provided with modular portable systems. In places such as buildings that are very difficult to access (base stations, power generation facilities), temporarily established structures (disaster coordination centers, site management offices), mini DC cabinets or mobile container data centers are preferred. Energy, elevated floors, fire extinguishing, cooling, energy, security and environment monitoring solutions of all elements that make up a data center serve in an integrated manner to these modular structures. When the structure is completed, these data centers are ready to be used in new sites that will be needed and will provide significant cost and time savings. In fixed structures, the correct positioning of the data center to be established is a very important issue for physical security as well as to reduce material and labor costs.

- Energy

The redundancy and continuity of data centers' energy is vital for data protection. The power consumed by all active devices and other components in the data center must be calculated and monitored and recorded. In case of emergency, it is possible to provide the required energy continuously after a good energy consumption analysis.

- Raised Floor

One of the most important products that creates the data center is the raised floor. The energy connections and data cables of all the currently installed Server and Storage cabinets will be transported and transfered in the room through the pans under the raised floor. For cable routing and access to all other room installations, it should be intervened when needed as modular. The raised floor should be designed to allow all cabinets and other active, passive products in the room to allow changes and revisions as necessary. This is also needed for cooling the active devices in the room from the ground. Weights of all equipment to be placed on the ground should be calculated and profiles or tie rods with high resistance to this weight should be preferred. The raised floor has an important position to protect devices and data for possible flooding, oil leakage or any hazards that may accumulate on the ground.

- Fire Extinguishing System

One of the emergency scenarios that may arise in data centers is fire. Without this system we cannot speak of data security in fixed or modular data centers. Since the products installed in the data centers can be reused after the fire, the fire extinguishing system should not harm the internal devices and personnel. For this reason, gas fire extinguishing systems are used in data centers. In order to extinguish the fire, cutting off the oxygen gas inside and pumping carbon dioxide gas is the basic structure of the system that can be installed to extinguish the possible fire. In the event of a fire, all components of the data center must be integrated into one software. Thanks to this integration, necessary units are notified, personnel are prevented from entering, security doors; Prevents intrusion, ambient air conditioning units are turned off and carbon dioxide gas is pumped through the detectors to control the fire.

- Cooling

Cooling of the data center is one of the most important issues that should not be interrupted. The most suitable cooling capacity devices should be selected for the environment by calculating the amount of heat generated by the active devices inside. By using the aging technique, the cooling devices can be both backed up and provide ambient cooling with longer lasting performance. Keeping the environment above the required heat will result in material damage and data loss as a result of active devices burning. For the cooling system will be one of the most serious energy consumption items in the room, high energy saving devices or water cooling should be preferred.

- Security

Data centers are responsible for the entire security of the structure as well as their physical structure needs security. No one other than authorized personnel should enter the data center. Devices with data centers located inside must be divided into sections, such as backup devices, in the order of importance. IT personnel must be authorized across departments. Data center inputs and outputs must be approved and controlled over the system, approval processes such as face scanning system, fingerprint, retina approval may be preferred in these approvals. In emergency scenarios, the emergency exit button and the non-combustible doors opened by internal impacts should be used for evacuation of the personnel inside.

- Media Monitoring

It is the gathering of the main elements in the data center such as energy, fire fighting, cooling, security on a software platform. Data centers should be monitored and recorded with 24/7 camera system. Environment monitoring software is a system that notifies us in advance of a possible negative situation. There is a need for an environment monitoring system in order to make the data center intervene before the start of the events such as energy fluctuations, the rise of the ambient temperature as a result of the failure of the cooling devices, the fire caused by any device and the flooding of the data center. In case of emergency, there should be personnel monitoring the environment monitoring system 24/7 in order to take necessary precautions or provide information where necessary.
